Living Objects

A Group of Media-Packed Human Sculptures

With the goal of making pieces that will incite a strong emotional reaction in the audience, the 3 collaborators have been very conscious about the way in which their sculptures are introduced. Our proposed installation would be an opportunity to scale them up, creating a more visceral experience for the audience.

Dimensions: 6" x 2" x 4" up to 72" x 72" x 180"

The Pasta Cycle

A Glass-Top Table Makes Objects Dance

"A kinetic sculpture that takes advantage of magnetism to perceptually challenge viewer"

"...both highlights the joy of pasta and pleases the most aesthetic sensibilities."

Dimensions: 12" x 24" x 24"

Teste Touch

A Large Hanging Installation

This piece demonstrates one of the main functions of the autonomous nervous system: performing crucial tasks for us without our direct intention. Although the rising and falling of the testicles is often the subject of humor and or vulgarity, it is crucial to the survival of the entire human species.

Dimensions: 3' x 2' x 12'

Single White Android

An Interactive Life-Sized Humanoid Robot

Our life-size doll wants to be close to you. His facial expressions and internal lighting relate to your interaction with him. His belly pulses with red light. He wants you to touch it, and if you comply, he reacts, smiling and glowing with pleasure.

Dimensions: 72" x 24" x 12"

lineByline

LineByline

A juxtaposition of digital and analog drawing techniques

Part performance, part display, lineByline is a juxtaposition of digital and analog drawing techniques. By making roughly the same drawing with a computer and by hand, this piece highlights the mounting tension between analog and digital types of artistic production.

Wall Drawing: The Medium is the Message

Wall Drawing

Time-lapse drawing performance on my bedroom wall

This drawing was part of my response to a talk given by the artist, Vik Muniz, at ITP. He spoke about Marshall McLuhan's idea that "the medium is the message." Much of Muniz's work is about transforming uncommon materials into supplies for art making.

Dimensions: Actual drawing is 18" x 24"
